Female Infant Refuge

This is our third baby “Erika” she was born on 08-10-2006 at home. We brought her to our home on 10-10-2006. She, like the others is lucky to be alive! As soon as she was born her parents told the midwife to kill her. But the midwife told them, "Don’t kill her, I can give her to someone and they will care for her. DO NOT MURDER HER!" The family still didn't want her alive. They said, if she is living anywhere in the world she is a curse to our family. Again the midwife tried to persuade them. Finally the agreed, but told the midwife to come back in a few hours. As she was leaving she had a feeling that something was going to happen to the baby. Praise God, we are sure that God gave that thought to her. When she arrived at the home, they were preparing a poison to give to the baby. She told them if you kill your baby I will make a complaint. After lots of shouting she finally received the baby! The midwife was paid Rs. 7,000 ($175) from us for this baby. She said, “I spent lots of my time and effort to save this baby, so you must give me lots of money. We value our baby more than money, but we didn't have any money with us that time. So we got a gold ring from our neighbors and put in the bank. After two months we paid back the bank and gave the ring back to our neighbor. Now she is growing with us, we know she will be a great witness to many people. Yes! When Erica was in her mother’s womb the mother attempted to murder her. She took some medicine and still Erica didn't die. But from this medicine she received a skin infection. After many hospital trips, and lots of prayer she has been healed. Grace, Angel and Erica have started day care this year! It is so exciting to see them starting in their education.
